At Simpson, making a difference has no age limit.

At 91 years young, Dr. Bennett, a true trailblazer and Simpson House resident, continues to make an impact—not only as the first African American woman to earn a medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania but also as a practicing psychiatrist and an inspiration to all. Recently honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award, her story is a testament to resilience, passion, and purpose.

We are proud to celebrate her incredible journey and legacy, which CBS featured as part of their Black History Month stories.
